SAS Brothers in Arms – book review
Before coming across Damien Lewis’s books, I didn’t read that much about WWII; TV documentaries were my primary source of information.
But reading one of Damien’s books is more than getting information; it’s discovering the personal stories of the characters of those events.
I knew ‘in big lines’ how the SAS started, but reading SAS Brothers in Arms, I discovered the thoughts and different layers of the personalities of its founding fathers.
It’s not something you can find in a history book; it’s something you can find in attics and old chests. And having someone doing all the research and writing a story that is captivating and enjoyable to read is no small did.
I look forward to the sequence and all the other books Damien plans to write. I’m hooked.
